I’m Liz, a single mom-to-be pursuing an Ethiopian adoption. I’m an East Coast liberal, a punk rock fan, an avid reader. I work in a tech field, but I can’t do math. I love kitchen gadgets and cookbooks, but I rarely cook. I won’t drive in the snow, but I live in New England. Go figure.

    Hi there,

Just saw your signature line with blog on a yahoo list post. I’m a single gal who adopted a son from Ethiopia in ’09. Love the name of your blog! If you haven’t seen the dvd of Getachew Mukurya with The Ex, you might like it – billed as 11 Ethio-punk songs.

    Good luck with the waaaaaaaaaiting.

    Liz –
I just came across your blog after reading through comments on the WHFC yahoo group. Congratulations on your referral! It’s such an exciting and excruciating experience all at the same time. My husband and I just got on the official wait list in Jan. — so we have a long way to go. We live in New York now… but I grew up in Dunbarton NH (my parents still live there) and he grew up in Goffstown… so we have a real New England connection. Best of luck with your pending court dates and I hope for everyone’s sake they figure out these new changes. By the way – I saw Deb from Dunbarton has 3 adopted children from ET. Have you connected with her? It’s such a small world. Again best of luck!
    Karlie

    Hi Liz,
Thanks so much for agreeing to take an album and some pictures of Mekdes. I am not familiar at all with blogs or contacting you thru them so I hope you get my email address ok. You can just send me your info and if you have an email I can give you all my info. I can’t wait to see you with pics of your new little one. Things are so different from when I adopted my son. Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.
    Thanks again,
    Nancy

  8. Tammy Says:

Hi Liz – I was part of the WH phone group. I’ve thought of you often, worrying that it would take too long to get your court date, and thinking of how terrible the wait would be for you. I’m so happy to see that its moving along!!! Terrific news!
