Has anyone else experienced not renewing their I600-A in time? Mine has expired, and I’m freaking out about what that might mean. My agency says they’ll sort it out and not to worry, but since this mess happens to be their fault in the first place, I’m really worried.
I’m only 90-ish days away from a referral, so I’m definitely feeling the pressure.
If anyone has any advice, please let me know!

Can’t help you with the 1600-A, however I am coasting with an expired home study. WHFC has said not to redo it until “closer to referral,” but since we don’t know where we are on the list, we don’t know when that will be. They said that it would make more sense to wait until our other stuff also has to be redone and do it all at once. I’ve talked with our local home study social worker and she agreed that it wouldn’t be a big deal to redo everything – she even suggested AFTER the referral, which completely freaks me out. But, the one comforting thing she did say was that you don’t have to have it updated at the time of referral, only the time of bringing the child home. So, we’d have several months to do it if we were to get a referral today. You’re probably in the same boat. As long as they are aware of it, I wouldn’t worry too much.

Our fingerprints are expiring in January and we are having them redone tomorrow morning. WHFC advised us to begin updating fingerprints and I600s at least 2 months before they expire…so that’s what we are doing. Where we live the turnaround for such things has been pretty quick (about 2 weeks). If you are still about 3 months away from referral it sounds like you should be fine.

No experience with this yet, but we did just have our fingerprints expire. Thankfully USCIS told us it was not a big deal since we knew we were quite some time away from a referral. Good luck in getting things straightened out!
