October 2009

Over the past few months, I have become addicted to adoption blogs.  You may have noticed the blogroll on the left of the page?  Those are only a few of the many blogs I read.  One of my favorite Sunday morning activities is to read my favorite blogs’ archives, following families’ journeys from application to re-adoption and beyond.  With a coffee in hand and Bax on my lap, I alternately chuckle at children’s antics and weep as I share in fellow adoptive parents’ struggles on the path to parenthood.  Occasionally Bax will stop snoring long enough to cock his head sideways and bark at one of the many cute videos posted by proud parents of their happy, healthy kiddos.  He thinks he’s such a tough guy.

Reading blogs has helped me to feel connected to the adoption community and has served as a lifeline on tough days when the wait looms so long and my mind is filled with uncertainty about whether I’ll ever get to the other side.  For those of you who know me in real life and wonder why I’m still resisting Facebook?  Sorry, folks, but FB would cut into my blog reading time, and that is unacceptable.

  3. Concord [konkerd] noun: The New England town city I now call home.

After stalking reading adoption blogs for well over a year, I figured I’d give this blogging thing a try.  I have lots to say and I’ve never been known to hold back.   Here goes!
